Alarm Permits

Officer HowardOn April 17,2007, the Deer Park City Council enacted a revision of the previous city alarm ordinances. Part of this revision transferred the responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the alarm ordinance from the Utility Department to the Police Department.

I am Officer Merv Howard and assigned as the Alarm Coordinator.

The Alarm Coordinator is responsible for the enforcement of the City of Deer Park Alarm Ordinance, the issuance of alarm permits to alarm user sites for both businesses and residences within the corporate city limits; and the invoicing and collection of excessive false alarm fees/levies. Perhaps the most important task is attempting to assist alarm users in a prevention or reduction or a total elimination of excessive false alarms, in accordance with the city ordinance.

Below are links to important information that will help you through the alarm permit process.

For any assistance or questions regarding the permitting, renewals, invoicing or other issues of the ordinance please contact me between 8 am and 5 pm Monday - Friday;  Office phone # 281-930-2144, fax at 281-930-1465, or email me at mhoward@deerparktx.org.
