School Crossing Guards

Crossing Guards

The City of Deer Park Police Department in cooperation with the Deer Park and LaPorte Independent School District, provides Crossing Guards at various intersections throughout our City every school day. Our school children are able to get to school safely each day due to these citizens willing to take on this part-time position with "full-time" responsibility. They sometimes find themselves in inclement weather having to direct traffic while providing extra eyes and ears to keep the children safe. The value they add both to the City and our Department cannot be overstated.

On June 2, 2009 the Deer Park Police Department held its annual "Crossing Guard Appreciation Luncheon" at the Republic Grill /Battleground Golf Course. This event was held to provide "an end of the year -Thank You" for what all of the Crossing Guards do for our school children every day throughout the school year.
