The position of Community Liaison was created in 2007 to assist the Department in strengthening its ties to the community. The Liaison coordinates efforts between the public and the Department throughout the year. Among the programs facilitated by the Liaison are the Citizens' Police Academy (CPA), the CPA Alumni Association, Sector Meetings, the Neighborhood Watch Program, National Night Out block parties, Kids' Fishing Day, Health & Safety Fairs, and various other community activities. If you are 18 or older, live, work, attend school or church in Deer Park, we welcome your participation. There are no physical requirements for attending the classes, however we do complete background checks on each applicant.
